Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County has officially closed on the site of the first permanent Boys & Girls Club in the City of Lewisville, and The Rao Foundation is proud to serve as the lead donor for this landmark project.
The new Club will be located at 195 W. Corporate Drive in Lewisville, Texas, in an 8,000-square-foot former fire station generously gifted by the City of Lewisville. The facility will be transformed into a year-round home for high-quality youth development programs, bringing much-needed resources, mentors, and opportunities to young people in one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States.
The Rao Foundation has committed a one-million-dollar lead gift to help make this Club a reality — and we are challenging the community to match it so that the doors can open by August 2026.

Why This Matters
At The Rao Foundation, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and that starts with access to education, safety, and consistent support. In Denton County, 1-in-17 children live in poverty, and nearly 29% of public-school students qualify for free lunch. For too many families, the resources that can change a child’s trajectory are simply out of reach.
The Lewisville Club will deliver academic support, prevention programming, daily meals, and strong mentorship, along with enrichment in arts, sports, technology, and workforce readiness. Year-round programming — including robust summer programs — will ensure that youth stay safe, fed, and learning every day. Together with existing mobile operations, BGCGTC projects that the Lewisville Club could serve 6,000 youth annually.
This is not just a childcare site or a drop-in center. It is a comprehensive youth development organization focused on long-term outcomes — and that is exactly the kind of mission The Rao Foundation exists to support.
A Community Effort
Our gift will support renovations, furnishings, safety upgrades, and the programming infrastructure needed to open the building as a fully operational Club. But one gift alone won’t get it done. We are inviting businesses, families, and individuals across the community to join us in making this Club everything it can be for the young people of Lewisville.
BGCGTC has a nearly 100-year track record of impact. Founded in 1926, it is the oldest and largest Boys & Girls Club organization in Texas, operating 26 locations and serving more than 88,000 young people last year alone. We are confident that this partnership will create lasting change for children and families in Denton County.

Get Involved
BGCGTC will hold a groundbreaking event on April 25th at 9:00 AM at 195 W. Corporate Drive, Lewisville, TX 75067. We encourage anyone who cares about the future of young people in our community to attend and show their support.
